The Master Plan For 2011

by David Shaw on 17th Jan 2011 · 3 comments

Those of you who read yesterdays Sunday Link Love will know that I have created a strategy for this blog in 2011.

One of the biggest aims is to increase the volume of posts on the blog but at the same time keep the quality high, so that you are always able to take something away from the posts that you read here.

I have decided to aim for 4 posts a week, this will be broken down to three during the week and one at the weekend. The blog will be covering the same niches that it has for the last couple of months so there is not going to be a massive shift in focus, so hopefully you will continue to enjoy my posts here.

Here is a breakdown of what I am hoping a week on David Shaw Blog will look like this year:

  • Tuesday: Blogging Tips Post - The blog has had a strong focus on providing blogging tips over the past couple of months and this will continue with a post every Tuesday that should help you improve as a blogger so that you can get more out of your blog.
  • Thursday: Social Media Post - This is an area that I am becoming more of an expert in every week. I spend most of my time during the week working in Social Media Optimization and I hope to share with you all the tips and tricks that I have learned over the past couple of years.
  • Fridays: Guest Post – Every Friday I am going to open my blog up to a guest blogger. I preach a lot about the benefits of guest blogging so this is a great chance for your to meet new bloggers who have interesting things to say on the blogging, social media, SEO and business niches.
  • Sunday: Sunday Link Love – This is a feature that has run on the blog for a while now and appears to be really successful. Every Sunday I will do a round-up of the best posts I have read over the past week.

There we go, that is how the blog is going to look for the next couple of months.

If you are interested in being one of my guest bloggers then feel free to contact me via email or tweet me and we can arrange for you to get a post published on my blog.

Want More RT’s On Twitter?

As well as working on a new strategy for this blog I have also created a RT Club! What the hell is a RT Club??

Essentially it is a group of people who work together to tweet links to each others posts. This helps to increase each others exposure and allows everyone involved to extend the reach of their blog posts.

If you are interested in joining my RT Club then you can request an invite here: DSB RT Club.

Your Turn?

What are your thoughts on my plan for DSB? Are you happy with the content and schedule? Have you worked on a strategy for your blog?
